Be Still and Know That I am God

Eidelweiss Thanksgiving
Bless our friends,
Bless our food,
Come oh Lord and sit with us.
May our talk glow in peace,
Bring you love to surround us.

Friendship and peace may it bloom and grow,
Bloom and grow forever.

Bless our friends,
Bless our Food,
Bless our dear land forever.

God’s Pater Noster
My child who art on earth,
worried, lonely, tempted;
I know your name perfectly,
and I pronounce it to hallow it,
because I love you.
No, you are not alone, but lived in by me,
and together we are building the kingdom
which you are going to inherit.
I like you to do my will,
because my will is that you should be happy,
for the Glory of God
is a living human being.

Always count on me
and you will have bread for today;
do not worry,
I only ask that you should get used to
sharing it with your sisters and brothers.
You know that I forgive your trespasses
even before you commit them;
that is why I ask that you should do the same
to those who trespass against you.

So that you should never fall into temptation,
take my hand tightly
and I will deliver you from evil,
my poor dear child.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your holy gifts. Let our weakness be penetrated with your strength this very day that we may fulfill all the duties of our state of life conscientiously, that we may do what is right and just.
Let our charity be such as to offend no one, and hurt no one’s feelings;  so generous as to pardon sincerely any wrongs done to us.

Assist us Holy Spirit in all our trials of life, enlighten us in our ignorance, advise us in our doubts, strengthen us in our weakness, help us in all our needs, protect us in temptations and console us in afflictions.

Graciously hear us, O Holy Spirit, and pour your light into our hearts, our souls and our minds.

Assist us to live a holy life and to grow in goodness and grace.

Holy Spirit - Source of Unity
Come, Holy Spirit,
Fill the Hearts of your people!
Help us, heal us, hold us in Love.
Shake us, shape us,
show us your truth.
Form us, free us, fill us with grace.
Defend us, mend us,
send us your power.
Touch us, teach us, turn us to you.
Unite us, ignite us,
delight us with joy.
Come, Holy Spirit.  Fill the hearts of your people,
And renew the face of the earth.

Prayer of St Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Tender Spirit Sophia;
Wrap me round with your love,
Ready me for risk.
Fierce and wonderful you are.
Free me, Spirit Sophia,
so that I might serve
as  you would have me serve.

Thoughts in Solitude
My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think that I am following your will, does not mean that
I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire
in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything
apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this
you will lead me by the right road,
though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always.
Though I may seem to be lost
and in the shadow of death,
I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
and you will never leave me
to face my perils alone.

Thomas Merton
